About

Based between Lisbon, PT and the Hudson Valley, NY, Mae Office was founded out of a desire to work flexibly and intuitively and a belief that architecture and design can positively impact our society. Using our experiences in architecture, brand strategy, and public relations, combined with a global network of journalists, photographers, film-makers, and graphic designers, we aim to create insightful and inspiring narratives for our clients and help communicate their work to the wider professional audience and general public.

Who we are

Catarina de Almeida Brito 
Co-founder

Catarina is a writer and architect. Before starting Mae Office, Catarina worked at 3RW in Bergen, NO. She co-founded Migrant Journal, an independent six-issue print publication exploring migration in all its forms. She has worked as a freelance journalist, and producer for Wallpaper* Magazine, Vinyl Factory’s The Spaces, among others. She also was a member of the public relations team for OMA in Rotterdam, NL.

Catarina trained as an Architect at the University of Bath and the Royal College of Arts, and holds a masters in City Design and Social Sciences from LSE Cities. Catarina lives in Lisbon with her partner and two children.

Jasmine Labeau 
Co-founder 

Jasmine’s professional background is in trend forecasting, consumer insight and public affairs. Prior to founding Mae Office, Jasmine managed the Public Relations office for architecture firm OMA in Rotterdam, NL. She also worked at renowned forecasting agency The Future Laboratory in London, UK, working with major global brands across various industries including lifestyle, retail and automotive.

Jasmine was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, she studied Art History at Wesleyan University and Architecture at Westminster University. Jasmine lives in the Hudson Valley with her husband and two young daughters.
